Manila—Just a few days have passed since the 86th season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) officially commenced on Saturday, September 30. However, devoted UAAP enthusiasts won’t have to wait much longer as the prominent universities in the league are poised to compete in an intense quadruple-header event, headlined by none other than the Ateneo Blue Eagles facing off against the De La Salle Green Archers on Wednesday, October 4.

On Sunday, October 1st, Topex Robinson, the Green Archers’ Head Coach and a newcomer to the UAAP, mentioned in a post-game interview that the team had no intentions of altering their game preparations when facing the reigning UAAP champions.

After securing their first victory against FEU, the Green Archers are aiming to build momentum as they strive for a stronger finish this season. Meanwhile, Ateneo, in contrast, is looking to bounce back following a disappointing start to their title defense campaign, having suffered a 77-64 defeat to the NU Bulldogs last Saturday.

“We are deeply disappointed with our performance. I believe the words that hold great meaning for Ateneans, ‘One Big Fight,’ particularly the word ‘fight,’ was absent today, and that is inexcusable,” commented Baldwin after the Eagles’ disheartening loss.

With both teams at opposite ends of the spectrum, these two squads are set to unleash their competitive spirits as one aims to retain the UAAP crown while the other strives to paint it green.
